Although FL is known for the famous beaches in miami beach, south beach, and ft lauderdale beach; and, of course as home to the disney theme parks in orlando, fl, there are several smaller cities, and local spots which are just as nice to visit, and when you are making a trip to FL, they are a definate must stop at, during your vacation. So, if you are planning a trip to the sunshine state, and you want to get the most out of your vacation, you are going to want to visit the smaller destinations, so you can get the most of the trip, and to get a full look at what the state has to offer.
One place to go to is Daytona beach. This is where the famous Daytona 500 is held annually, but the miles of beaches the city has to offer is also spectacular. This city is forgotten by visitors, but loved by locals. It can be just as great as miami beach, but you have to make sure to make the visit. There are also lovely beaches in St. Pete, Jacksonville beach, and of course St. Augustine, which is one of the oldest cities in the state.
